TikTok Shop fees in 2026: platform commission vs your real cost per order
A useful TikTok Shop model separates two things: fees defined by TikTok policy and operating costs controlled by the seller. Platform commission belongs in the first bucket. Creator affiliate commission, fulfillment, product cost, ads and your expected return loss belong in the second. Mixing them together is how sellers end up pricing from a headline percentage instead of from profit.
1. Verified platform commission by market
| Market | Standard | Eligible reductions | New seller |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | 6% | Select jewelry / pre-owned 5% | Eligible promo plans may apply |
| United Kingdom | 9% | Eligible Electronics / select Beauty & Personal Care 5% | Check Seller Center |
| European Union | 9% | Eligible electronics 7% | Eligible mission: 4% up to 60 days |
These rates are modeled from current official TikTok Shop policy pages. Category programs and seller missions can be conditional, so use your Seller Center fee page as the final authority for your account.

Platform commission rates are sourced from official TikTok Shop policy pages. Fulfillment, returns and account-specific programs can vary; your own Seller Center and settlement statement are the final authority.
2. Why we do not add a default 2.9% + fixed processing fee for UK/EU
Earlier versions of this site added a separate 2.9% plus £0.30 / €0.30 seller processing charge to UK and EU orders. We removed that default because the current official TikTok Shop commission policies we verified do not list it as a universal additional seller fee. A calculator should not turn a third-party claim into a hard-coded platform charge.
If your actual settlement statement includes another account-specific deduction, model it with the optional adjustment or campaign fields. That keeps official policy assumptions separate from shop-specific costs.
3. Creator affiliate commission is usually the bigger variable
TikTok's platform commission and creator affiliate commission are different costs. The first is a marketplace policy rate. The second is a rate you set to recruit creators. A 15% creator commission can exceed the platform commission by a wide margin, so it should be treated as a pricing input rather than as an afterthought.
That is why the calculator keeps creator commission and the share of creator-attributed orders as separate inputs. A 15% offer applied to 30% of orders has very different blended economics from a creator order modeled at 100%.
4. Returns change revenue, commission and recoverable inventory
A fully refunded order does not keep its sale revenue, and creator commission is not earned on that refund. The calculator therefore models completed and fully refunded orders separately, then weights them by your expected return rate. You can also enter return postage and the percentage of returned product value that can be recovered through resale.
5. Fulfillment, COGS and ads turn fee math into unit economics
Platform commission alone cannot tell you whether a product works. A seller needs to know the cash left after fulfillment, product cost, acquisition cost and returns. The calculator therefore reports net profit, margin, ROI and break-even selling price rather than stopping at marketplace payout.
FBT rates and shipping programs can vary by parcel, market and account. The built-in fulfillment values are planning assumptions, clearly labeled as such, and should be replaced by the current rate card shown in your Seller Center when accuracy matters.
6. Use reverse pricing before discounts and creator offers
Forward mode asks, “What do I keep at this price?” Reverse mode asks the more useful commercial question: “What price do I need to charge to clear my target profit?” This is especially valuable when setting creator-exclusive discounts, campaign prices or bundles.
7. Worked examples: TikTok Shop fees and profit on a $40 order
These illustrative US orders use a 6% standard platform commission, $12 product cost and $4.50 seller-paid shipping. Buyer-paid shipping, discounts, tax inputs, campaign charges and returns are set to zero to isolate the effect of creators and ads. Shipping is a seller assumption, not an official FBT quote. Replace these inputs with your own costs.

8. How to use this site safely
Start with the official standard rate, choose an eligible reduced category only if your product qualifies, and only enable a new-seller rate when your Seller Center confirms the mission or promotion. Then replace the operational assumptions with your real COGS, fulfillment, creator commission, ad cost and expected return rate.
Keep an eye on the fee changelog for model changes, and always reconcile important pricing decisions against your actual settlement statement.
