TikTok Shop fee model changes, dated
This log records changes that affect the calculator's seller-economics model, including policy-rate updates, corrections and assumption changes. When a universal fee cannot be verified from an official source, we would rather remove it than present it as a platform fact.
Added return-weighted profit, creator order mix and break-even ROAS
Profit is now modeled per placed order by separating completed and fully refunded orders. Sellers can set creator-attributed order share, return postage and recovered inventory value, then compare expected profit with completed-order profit and break-even ROAS.
Removed unsupported default payment-processing charge
The calculator previously added 2.9% + a fixed £0.30 / €0.30 seller processing charge by default in the UK and EU. We removed that assumption after re-checking current official TikTok Shop commission policies, which do not list it as a universal additional seller fee.
Added eligible 5% reduced category rate
The UK model now includes a 5% option for eligible Electronics and select Beauty & Personal Care categories alongside the 9% standard commission.
EU rate labels and new-seller mission clarified
The EU model now labels the 7% eligible electronics rate and the conditional 4% new-seller mission more clearly, with an official source and verification date shown in the calculator.
FBT return handling assumption itemized
Return handling was broken out as a planning assumption so sellers can see its effect on expected return cost. Current account terms should be checked in Seller Center.
EU standard commission moved to 9%
The calculator uses a 9% standard EU commission with an eligible 7% electronics rate. Eligible new sellers may receive a conditional 4% mission rate for up to 60 days.
UK standard commission moved to 9%
The UK standard commission is modeled at 9% in the current calculator. Eligible reduced category rates are now exposed separately instead of being hidden in generic copy.
US standard commission settled at 6% for most categories
The current US calculator models 6% as the standard rate for most categories, with eligible reduced and custom category rates available in the selector.
